Sylwia & Damian Wierzbowscy
A couple of which one has a broad theoretical knowledge, the other is a typical ‘hands-on’ experimentalist. They share a sensibility and sensitivity. They had dealt with various forms of arts – photography, graphic arts and paintings, until tried clay. They started their journey with chamotte clay – patient for learners, not urging, forgiving mistakes. Later explored raku, open-air, smoke or teepee firing. Further experiences with red clay, porcelite and porcelain finally led them to their beloved porcelain. They discovered its frailty and subtleness. Now, they experiment with crystalline glazes, being charmed by their spontaneity and unpredictability.
